CURRICULUM VITAE UGO VLAISAVLJEVIC
Born in 1957, Ugo Vlaisavljevic is Full Professor of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo, teaching Philosophy of language at the Philosophy and sociology department and Epistemology of social sciences at the Psychology department. He has written widely on phenomenology, hermeneutics, post/structuralism, semiotics, and is currently a member of the editorial boards of the journals Dijalog (Sarajevo) and Transeuropeennes (Paris). He is the author of the following books published in his country: Ontology and Its Legacy (1995), The Phenomenological Constitution of the European Community (A Re-Reading of the Vienna Lecture) (1996), Writing. A Sketch for the Hydrography of Nusret Pasic, (1997), The Origin of Geometry and the Transcendental Phenomenology of History (2003), Lepoglava and University. Essays in Political Epistemology (2003), Merleau-Ponty’s semiotics of perception. The phenomenological Way into Deconstruction and Ethno-political Constitutions (2004). Ethnopolitics and Citizenship (2006), War – the Greatest Cultural Event. A Contribution to Semiotics of Ethnonationalism (2007), The Domestication of Nationalism (2007). Originator and Coordinator of the Oxford Brookes University Human Rights Film Festival (including speakers’ programme featuring filmmakers and human rights activists from various NGOs and campaigning initiatives). Festival funders have included OXFAM and Working Title Films. Fourth annual festival to be held in March 2006. Partnership with Human Rights Office Tuzla in organising two Human Rights Film Festivals (the first in Bosnia-Herzegovina) in April 2004 and October 2005.

Mirovna Akademija 2008. bila je mnogo, mnogo više od pukog akademskog istraživanja porekla nasilnog konflikta ili osnova za izgradnju mira. Istražujući ove i druge teme sa istinskim intelektualnim žarom, Akademija je takođe obezbedila i retku priliku da se promišljaju neka od širih pitanja sa kojima su suočeni aktivisti/ice i svi oni koji su posvećeni nenasilju i društvenoj pravdi.
Kako gradimo pravedna i mirna društva? Koji su koreni nasilnog konflikta u našim zajednicama, i nama samima? Iz kojih izvora – kulturnih, istorijskih, filozofskih, religijskih i drugih - crpimo snagu i inspiraciju za naš rad? Na koji način gradimo i održavamo uspešne pokrete za nenasilnu društvenu promenu? Na koji bi način društva trebalo da se pravedno i nenasilno suoče sa nasilnom prošlošću? Šta je meni lično potrebno kako bih se pripremio/la za izazove ovakvog rada?
Doprinosi učesnika/ca i predavača ovim diskusijama – kako formalnim, tako i neformalnim – stvorili su atmosferu koja je učinila da ta sedmica u Sarajevu bude istinski živa, sa dijalozima debatama. Mirovna Akademija se veoma brzo profilisala kao esencijalni forum za razmenu ideja i jačanje novih mreža među aktivistima/icama i mirovnim radnicima/ama u regionu.
Za više od dve decenije mog bavljenja podučavanjem i aktivzmom vezanim za mir i ljudska prava, retko sam imao prilike da iskusim tako stimulativnu i dragocenu sedmicu, kao što je bila ta nedelja trajanja Mirovne Akademije 2008. Bila je to nedelja dana koja me je lično izazvala i promenila na tako mnogo nivoa, a iskustvo uzajamnog učenja i ličnog rasta koje smo delili tokom mog kursa zauvek će ostati važno za mene.
Mirovna Akademija nam je potrebna čak više nego što smo u stanju zamisliti – i nek nam dugo živi!
